SYDNEY, NSW July 2026
Managing Director of URSYS – Bart Bunting, was inducted last Thursday 9th July into the Paralympics Australia Hall of Fame, recognising his outstanding contribution to Australian Paralympic sport.
Bart’s sporting achievements are remarkable. A world champion in Para alpine skiing, he won two gold medals at the 2000 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Anzère, Switzerland, alongside his guide Nathan Chivers, becoming world champion in both the Downhill and Giant Slalom B1 – 3 events. He went on to win two gold medals and one silver medal at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Paralympic Games and later represented Australia again at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games.
“Bart’s induction into the Paralympics Australia Hall of Fame is a remarkable and well-deserved honour,” said Grahame Cover, Retired Chairman of URSYS. “For those of us who have worked alongside Bart for many years, it reflects the character we see every day – calm determination, practical leadership and deep a commitment to getting things right. Beyond all that and never far away, is that free indomitable spirit that is always looking for the path less trodden. For URSYS, the honour is especially meaningful. Bart has spent more than 29 years with the company, helping shape its technical capability, operational strength and commitment to reliable communications in some of Australia’s most challenging environments.”
“This is a proud moment for Bart, his family and everyone at URSYS,” said Karen Hull, Company Secretary and Business Operations Manager. “His legacy shows what can be achieved through perseverance, technical excellence and quiet leadership.”
URSYS congratulates Bart on this significant national honour and thanks him for his exceptional contribution to the company, its people and the broader Australian community.
