In early September, URSYS had the privilege of exhibiting at NT Resources Week, one of the most important gatherings for energy, mining, and infrastructure professionals across Northern Australia. The event brought together decision-makers from oil & gas majors, miners, engineering service providers, government agencies, and support industries – all with a shared interest in building the region’s resilience and growth.
For URSYS, our participation was driven by the key objective -supporting heavy industries, engineering service suppliers, emergency services and remote communities with communication solutions. We positioned ourselves as a remote communications specialist committed to helping organisations overcome the connectivity challenges inherent in remote and often harsh environments.
During the exhibition, we engaged with representatives from Santos, Inpex, Beetaloo Energy, Tamboran Resources, Glencore, Agnico Eagle, and many others. We also connected with leading mining service providers, including BWE Drilling, FYFE, Altrad, GR Production Services, CE Group, integrated facility services like SIRROM and emergency response specialist such as Parabellum International. Each conversation highlighted the diverse yet converging needs of organisations across the sectors: staying connected, ensuring worker safety, and enabling high performing digital operations in some of the most remote parts of the country.
Recurring themes across the conference reflected the challenges we address daily at URSYS. Operators emphasised the growing importance of real-time communications to support distributed workers and contractors, particularly in drilling, mining and accommodation facilities spread across the Territory. Mining executives discussed the critical role of secure, high-performance connectivity for IoT devices, autonomous hauling vehicles, and SCADA systems, while service providers expressed concerns about uptime and latency as operations increasingly rely on remote monitoring and control.
At NT Resources Week, URSYS showcased how our solutions in Private LEO satellite connectivity and Private 5G-as-a-Service address these precise challenges. While we emphasised that each service can be deployed independently, the true value lies in their integration – delivering seamless, low-latency, secure communications across multiple domains.
The week reinforced URSYS’s belief that remote operations require more than standard connectivity. They demand purpose-built solutions, tailored to the needs of heavy industries, emergency and defence alike.
